Rachel WARFIELD and Nicholas Worthington DORSEY were married on 14 December 1779 in Montgomery Co, MD.^{100,443,444,445} Nicholas Worthington DORSEY^444,446, son of Nicholas DORSEY and Elizabeth WORTHINGTON, was born on 1 November 1759 in Anne Arundel Co, MD.^100,444 He served in the military in 1778 in Maryland in the Revolutionary War.⁴⁴⁷ He died on 16 October 1821 at the age of 61 in Montgomery Co, MD.^100,444 ...was a volunteer in the Flying Camp in 1776, and on the seventeenth day of April 1777 the said Nicholas Dorsey received the Comission of Lieutenant in the fourth Maryland Regiment under Captin Samuel Godman...commanded by Colonel Howard and resigned his commission on the 10th day fo November 1778...was in several engagements - Brandy Wine, German Town and Monmouth. Federal Gazett & Baltimore Daily Advertiser, 4 Sept 1800, Vol XIII, Issue 2115, page 1: For Sale - The subscriber will sell a valuable Plantaton, containing between four and five hundred acres, situated about twenty miles from Baltimore, and 25 from the Federal city. The whole of this plantation is under good fence, and the improvements thereon, consisting of a lrge Brick Dwelling-House, a good Kitchen, sundry out-houses, a large stone Stable, and a large garden, walled in with stone. The situation is pleasant and healthy, and a good spring in every field. I will exchange two thirds of this land for land in Kentucky, and the third in cash. 291	i.	Nicholas DORSEY was born on 29 January 1781.⁴⁴⁴ He died on 10 October 1804 at the age of 23.⁴⁴⁴ Carrolltonian, Mar 2006, page 43: Nicholas Dorsey Family Cemetery. The small graveyard is on the property of Millard Hadel of 7548 Ridge Road, Marriottsville. In the 1850s Nicholas and Cassandra Dorsey and their son, Nicholas, were living at this location. Both parents were dead by 1860 but the property belonged to their son Nicholas according to an 1877 map. Although there is only one engraved stone, several other unmarked gravestones exist and probably represent other family burials. 1) CD died February 18, 1853 at age 77 years 4 months (probably Cassandra Dorsey)
