Moses HAMMOND1 was born on 15 November 1731 in Rochester, Plymouth, MA.536,537 He was baptized on 13 June 1773 in Mattapoisett, Plymouth, MA.538 He signed a will on 7 March 1800 in Rochester, Plymouth, MA.539 Plymouth Co Registry of Probate MOSES HAMMOND, PLYMOUTH, MA Images 707-715 MA Wills and Probate Records – Box 107167 1635-1991; Roll #126 In the Name of God Amen I, Moses Hammond of Rochester mindful of the uncertainty of Life, and desirous of freeing my Mind from all thoughts of a secular nature, in my last hours do make and ordain this my last Will and testament and having given my Soul to God and my body to be laid in the Earth till it shall leave God to raise it at the last day, I do dispose of my earthly Interest in the manner following viz I bequeath twenty-five dollars to my son Joshua Hammond and five dollars to my Daughter Alice Blankenship And my wearing Apparel to my son Moses Hammond And the Bed to Mahitable Hammond, which was her Mothers and half of all the Bed clothes which I shall leave And another Bed with the other half of he Bed clothes to my Daughter Mercy Davis And the residue of my Estate real or Personal after the above Legacies and all other Charges which justly lay against my estate be paid I give to Moses Davis the son of my Daughter Mercy Davis and on her demise (he being a minor) to the eldest surviving son of my said Daughter Mercy she having the right of the Improvement(?) of said Estate during her natural Life, all which Bequeathments are to be considered as canceling every debt which Joseph Davis or the above Legatees may have against me. And I appoint Revd Lemuel LeBaron Executor of this my last Will and testament, giving him Power to sell such a Part of my Estate, personal or real, either by private sail(sic) Vendue as shall be sufficient for the above Purposes.
