Roger Hammond, seventh son of Benjamin 2d was a farmer in Hammondtown, and lived on the west bank of Mattapoisett River, a little north of the late Alvah Shurtleff house, on the homestead of his father.

Roger HAMMOND and Charity HAMMOND were married on 15 April 1744 in Rochester, Plymouth, MA.^306,307,308 Charity HAMMOND, daughter of Josiah HAMMOND and Mary BARLOW, was born on 5 June 1718 in Rochester, Plymouth, MA.^126,309,310 She was baptized on 19 November 1741 in Mattapoisett, Plymouth, MA.¹²⁴ She died on 27 July 1803 at the age of 85 in Rochester, Plymouth, MA.³¹¹ Charity has reference number 477.
