Jeremiah ROBERTS was born on 15 July 1803 in , Albemarle, VA.278,279,280 He appeared in the census in 1810 in St Ann's Parish, Albemarle, VA.83 On 5 December 1825 he became the ward of appt guardian of brother Frederick in Albemarle Co, VA281 [Couple] posted marriage banns on 20 October 1828 in Albemarle Co, VA.282 Jeremiah owned Land adjacent to McDonald's - later Bunch in December 1830 in Louisa Co, VA.259 He sold Sells right to land from estate of RMRoberts in Albemarle Co, VA on 30 January 1834.283 He migrated in 1835 to in Pike Co, MO.284,285 In 1835 Jeremiah became a member of Methodist Episcopal Church286,287 In 1837 in Pike Co, MO he sued the estate of Thos Suddarth as administrator.288 Pike County Court Records

A Amy Recr He appeared in the census in 1840 in Peno, Pike, MO.292 He owned Sale - Deed - to James Smith on 2 September 1840 in Pike Co, MO.293 On 18 July 1842 Jeremiah acquired 155+ acres from Nalley & McGinnis in Pike Co, MO294 This Deed, in a da? this eighteenth day of July AD 1842 by and between William Nally and Elizabeth Nalley his wife and Strother J McGinnis and Elizabeth S. McGinnis his wife party of the first and Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) party of the Second part all of Pike County and State of Missouri - Witnesseth that whereas Marie P Ledue of the City of St. Louis did by Deed bearing date the 14th day of October AD 1836 convey and transfer to the said Nalley and McGinnis all his right, title & interest to a certain tract of land lying in Pike and Lincoln Counties Missouri containing seven thousand nine hundred and forty four arpents being the residue of a larger tract granted to said Ledue by Charles Dehaull Delassus and whereas said purchase was made by said Nally and McGinnis or themselves and Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) and others the interest of land to be in proportion to amount of money paid towards the purchase money for said tract of land and whereas the said Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) paid the sum of one hundred And fifty dollars towards paying for said tract of land all of which Will more fully appear by refference(sic) to the Bond executed by said Nalley and McGinnis to John Hughes (assigned by said Hughs to John Fagg and by the said Fagg to Jeremiah Roberts) dated the 26th day of December 1835 and recorded in the Recorders Office of the County of Pike and State of Missouri and where as the parties of the first and second part together with the others interested in said tract of Land, entered into an agreement the first day of April AD 1842 by which they appointed and constituted John W Davis

This sheriff Deed made this 9th day of April AD 1852 by and between Mathew Givens Sheriff of the county of Pike in the State of Missouri of the first part and Jeremiah Roberts of the second part (Witnesseth) whereas the circuit court in and for said County at its April Term AD 1851 made an order in the Matter of Almond T Vaughan and the heirs of Horatio T Kent against Thomas W Thurston defendant commanding said Sheriff to sell to the highest bidder the real estate therein mentioned to wit Lot No one hundred and ninety eight (198) in the Town of Clarksville in said county & said did in obedience to said order on the 17th day of May AD 1851 offer the same for sale between the hours of 9 and 5 oclock of that day and in the same town of Clarksville according to said order after having given at least Twenty days previous notice of the time and place of said sale of what real estate was to be sold and where situated by printed hand bills put up in at least six of the most public places in the county of Pike and the party of the second part being the highest bidder for the price and sum of thirty six dollars became the purchaser thereof Now therefore know ye that in consideration of the premises and for the said sum of money to me paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I have sold assigned and transferred and by these presents do sell assign and transfer to said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns forever all the right title and interest which the said petitioner and defendant had in and to Said real estate so far as I may or can by law sell assign and transfer the same by virtue of the premises aforesaid to have and to hold forever. 1. 30 Jan 1834, Albemarle County Deeds, Albemarle County, VA. Relinquishment of rights of inheritance to property of Richard Morris Roberts, according to his will, presently being inhabited by Elizabeth Roberts, widow of Richard. For the sum of $400, property rights are relinquished to brother, Frederick Roberts. Legal act occurs shortly before migration from Virginia to Missouri.

2. March 1839, Pike County, MO, Pike County Recorder's Office, Book F, Page 461, Grantee Book of Deeds. Jeremiah Roberts acquires about 75 acres of land by a good and sufficient warrantee deed in fee simple for the North East part of the SW fractional quarter of Section No. 27 in Township 52 in Range 2 West situated in the County of Pike from the estate of Thomas Suddarth, John Myers, Executor. Property known as the Spout Spring place - because the family got their water at Spout Spring - down the hill and across the road. Pictures of the property are in the file.

3. 2 Sept 1842 (Recorded) - Pike County, MO, Pike County Recorder's Office, Book H, Page 187, Grantor Deed Book. Sale of Spout Spring property to James Smith - $481.80 for 75 and 30/100 acres.

4. 9 Sept 1843 (Recorded) - Pike County, MO, Pike County Recorder's Office, Book H, Page 502, Grantee Book of Deeds. Purchased a piece of property 7,944 arpents (150 acres) for $150. He acted as the assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes.

5. 15 October 1847 - Pike County, MO, Pike County Recorder's Office, Book K, Page 269. Sale of 155 acres to Philip Thurmond for $1,000. Sale abutting Thurmond's land, same acreage as purchased in #4 above.

Two Days in Pike County:
"...we drove north to Little Ramsay Creek and found the farm where Jeremiah Roberts moved before his daughter Ellen Lewis was born in 1839. He moved over to Little Ramsay to be near his father -in-law, John Fagg, who with his family had moved out from Albemarle County, Virginia in November 1837."
