13. Jeremiah ROBERTS²⁸³ was born on 15 July 1803 in Albemarle Co, VA.^{284,285,286,287} He appeared in the census in 1810 in St Ann's Parish, Albemarle, VA.⁸⁵ He appeared in the census in 1820 in Albemarle Co, VA.⁸⁷ On 5 December 1825 Jeremiah became the ward of appt guardian of brother Frederick in Albemarle Co, VA²⁸⁸ [Couple] posted marriage banns on 20 October 1828 in Albemarle Co, VA.²⁸⁹ He owned Land adjacent to McDonald's - later Bunch in December 1830 in Louisa Co, VA.²⁶⁴ He sold Sells right to land from estate of Richard Roberts in Albemarle Co, VA on 30 January 1834.²⁹⁰ Deed Book 31, Pages 268, 269

county of Albemarle and State of Virginia of the one part and Frederick Roberts
of the County of Albemarle an State of Virginia of the other part:  Witnesseth
that the said Jeremiah Roberts and his wife Lucy M Roberts in consideration
of the sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of
which they do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and sell all their right title
and interest in a certain piece or parcel of land lying being and
situated in the County of Albemarle and State of Virginia being the land
upon which Elizabeth Roberts now resides and to which she is entitled
to a life Estate -  To Have and To Hold the said piece or parcel of land
to the proper use and behoof of the said Frederick Roberts his heirs and
assigns forever.  And the said Jeremiah Roberts and Lucy M his wife for
themselves their heirs exers and admrs do covenant and agree that the half
of the said land upon which the said Elizabeth Roberts now resides and
Estate for life to which she is entitled is clear and free of all incumbrances
whatsoever,that their title is undisputed and that they will warrant and defend the same forever:  In Testimony whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals

A Amy Recr He appeared in the census in 1840 in Peno, Pike, MO.³⁰¹ Jeremiah owned Sale of Spout Spring site to James Smith on 2 September 1840 in Pike Co, MO.³⁰² On 18 July 1842 he acquired 155+ acres from Nalley & McGinnis in Pike Co, MO³⁰³ This Deed, in a da? this eighteenth day of July AD 1842 by and between William Nally and Elizabeth Nalley his wife and Strother J McGinnis and Elizabeth S. McGinnis his wife party of the first and Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) party of the Second part all of Pike County and State of Missouri - Witnesseth that whereas Marie P Ledue of the City of St. Louis did by Deed bearing date the 14th day of October AD 1836 convey and transfer to the said Nalley and McGinnis all his right, title & interest to a certain tract of land lying in Pike and Lincoln Counties Missouri containing seven thousand nine hundred and forty four arpents being the residue of a larger tract granted to said Ledue by Charles Dehaull Delassus and whereas said purchase was made by said Nally and McGinnis or themselves and Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) and others the interest of land to be in proportion to amount of money paid towards the purchase money for said tract of land and whereas the said Jeremiah Roberts (assignee of John Fagg assignee of John Hughes) paid the sum of one hundred And fifty dollars towards paying for said tract of land all of which Will more fully appear by refference(sic) to the Bond executed by said Nalley and McGinnis to John Hughes (assigned by said Hughs to John Fagg and by the said Fagg to Jeremiah Roberts) dated the 26th day of December 1835 and recorded in the Recorders Office of the County of Pike and State of Missouri and where as the parties of the first and second part together with the others interested in said tract of Land, entered into an agreement the first day of April AD 1842 by which they appointed and constituted John W Davis

This deed made and entered into this the Fifteenth day of May AD Eighteen hundred and fifty by and between Fielding Lewis and Martha Lewis his wife both of the County of Pike and State of Missouri parties of the first part and Jeremiah Roberts party of the second part witnesseth; that the Said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars will and truly to them paid in hand by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and confessed have this day and do by these presents transfer and convey unto the said party of the Second part all of our right title and interest of and in to the following described property situated & lying and being in the Town of Clarksville Pike County Missouri and described as follows to wit: one Lot known and numbered on the plat of Said town as two hundred (200) together with all the rights privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold to the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Parties of the first part hereby covenant for themselves their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns to warrant and defend the title to the above described property against the lawful claim or claims of all persons whatever, In Testimony whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals this day, and date first above written.

This sheriff Deed made this 9th day of April AD 1852 by and between Mathew Givens Sheriff of the county of Pike in the State of Missouri of the first part and Jeremiah Roberts of the second part (Witnesseth) whereas the circuit court in and for said County at its April Term AD 1851 made an order in the Matter of Almond T Vaughan and the heirs of Horatio T Kent against Thomas W Thurston defendant commanding said Sheriff to sell to the highest bidder the real estate therein mentioned to wit Lot No one hundred and ninety eight (198) in the Town of Clarksville in said county & said did in obedience to said order on the 17th day of May AD 1851 offer the same for sale between the hours of 9 and 5 oclock of that day and in the same town of Clarksville according to said order after having given at least Twenty days previous notice of the time and place of said sale of what real estate was to be sold and where situated by printed hand bills put up in at least six of the most public places in the county of Pike and the party of the second part being the highest bidder for the price and sum of thirty six dollars became the purchaser thereof Now therefore know ye that in consideration of the premises and for the said sum of money to me paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I have sold assigned and transferred and by these presents do sell assign and transfer to said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns forever all the right title and interest which the said petitioner and defendant had in and to Said real estate so far as I may or can by law sell assign and transfer the same by virtue of the premises aforesaid to have and to hold forever. This Sheriffs Deed made and executed this 4th day of March AD 1860 by and between Masten H. Arthur Sheriff of Pike County in the State of Missouri party of the first part and John O. Roberts James B Roberts Richard M Roberts Ellen L Downing & Caroline V Roberts of Said County of the Second part Witnesseth that whereas the circuit Court of Said County at its September Term AD 1858 in the matter of Joseph W Brown against Thomas F Boseley and others Petition for Partition made an order that the Sheriff Sell the real estate hereinafter described lying in Said Pike County Missouri on the following terms to wit on twelve months Credit In Obedience to Said Order. I Master H Arthur Sheriff as aforesaid offered for sale at public outcry and auction before the Court House door in the town of Bowling Green in Said County on the 8th day of March AD 1859 between the hours of nine and five o’clock of said day, and deeming the Selling of the Circuit Court for Said County of Pike after having given at least twenty days previous notice of the time terms and place of Said Sale and what real estate was to be sold, and whence situated by advertisements printed in the Louisiana Democratic Herald a public newspaper printed in Said County and State aforesaid and John O Roberts James B Roberts Richard M Roberts Ellen L Downing & Caroline V Roberts being the highest and best bidders because the purchase of Lot No. two hundred (200) Situate in the City of Clarksville in Pike County, Missouri at and for the sum of Ten Cents (10)cts now therefore know you that I Masen H Arthur Sheriff as aforesaid for and in consideration of the premises and for the Said Sum of money above mentioned to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I have Sold assigned and transferred to Said heirs of Jeremiah Roberts party of the Second part his heirs and assigns forever all the right title and interest which the Said Joseph W Brown against Thomas F Boseley v. others had in and to the real estate above described in form as I may or can by law Sell transfer and assign the Same to have and to hold forever – In testimony whereof I Masten H Arthur Sheriff as aforesaid hereunto Subscribe my name and affix my seal the day and date first above written.

Mary Ann Roberts was not the daughter of Jeremiah and Lucy - she was the daughter of Joseph Roberts. This is clearly proven by the census reports for both families.
