1. Schuyler Harris ROBERTS was born in 1804 in Amherst Co, VA.1,2 3 4 5 He appeared in the census in 1840 in Shelby Co, TN.6 7,8 Know all men by these presents, the we S H Roberts and Samuel F Harwell of the County of Shelby in the State of Tennessee, are held and firmly bound unto the GOVERNOR OF SAID STATE, for the time being, in the sum of TWELVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS to be paid to his Excellency, his successors in office, or Assigns, to which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, and each and every of us and them jointley(sic) and severally, firmly by these presents.
WITNESS, our hands and seals, this 7th day of May - 1841
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas S H Roberts hath this day prayed and obtained license to marry M G Pass Now if the said M G Pass be an actual resident of the county aforesaid, and there shall not hereafter appear any lawful cause why the said S H Roberts and M G Pass should not be joined together in Holy Matrimony as husband and wife, then this obligation be void and of no effect; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

9 10,11 He appeared in the census in 1850 at Agricultural Census in Shelby Co, TN.12 Schuyler appeared in the census in 1850 at Slave Schedule in Shelby Co, TN.13 14 15 He Filed for school system management (scholastic population) in 1853 in Shelby Co, TN.16 17 He died on 8 December 1859 at the age of 55 in Shelby Co, TN.18,19 Schuyler was buried after 8 December 1859 at Roberts Family Cemetery in Shelby Co, TN.20 He had his estate probated on 19 January 1860 at Estate set-aside for widow in Shelby Co, TN.21 We the undersigned freeholders of Shelby County Tennessee After being duly sworn, have proceeded to set apart to Mrs. Mary Roberts Widow of S H Roberts because so much of the crop provisions and other effects on hand as will be sufficient in our opinion, to support her and her family one year from the death of her said husband.

He had his estate probated on 3 January 1960 in Shelby Co, TN.19 Schuyler was buried about 1973 at Germantown Cemetery in Germantown, Shelby, TN.22 Newspaper article - probably from the Memphis Daily Appeal - that is undated and unattributed is as follows:

??00 REWARD; Ranaway from the subscriber, living three miles south-east of Germantown, Tenn.m on the 30th October last, a negro boy by the name of CLARK. Said boy is twenty two or three years of age, had on when he left, cotton clothing, shirt and pants, a green wool hat and a jersey roundabout coat. I think he will aim for Jackson, Tennessee. Clark is of small size had yellow color. I will give the above reward if he is delivered to me, or confined in jail so that I can get him again.

Schuyler Harris ROBERTS and Mary KEUNER were married on 2 August 1849 in Shelby Co, TN.23,24 They23,24 appeared in the census in 1850 in Shelby Co, TN.25 Mary KEUNER, daughter of Augustus KEUNER, was born about 1829 in Germany.26 She appeared in the census on 4 December 1850 at District 10 in Shelby Co, TN.26 21 We the undersigned freeholders of Shelby County Tennessee After being duly sworn, have proceeded to set apart to Mrs. Mary Roberts Widow of S H Roberts because so much of the crop provisions and other effects on hand as will be sufficient in our opinion, to support her and her family one year from the death of her said husband.
        We set apart to her for said purposes the following articles

        6 stacks of fodder
        300 Bushels cotton seed
        10 Bushels Sweet Potatoes
        100 lbs coffee
        2 Sacks of salt

        She appeared in the census in 1910 in Shelby Co, TN.27 Mary died in 1918 at the age of 89 in Shelby Co, TN.28 She was buried in 1918 at Germantown Cemetery in Germantown, Shelby, TN.29

Charles ROBERTS was born on 29 June 1859 in Shelby Co, TN.33 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Shelby Co, TN.27 He died on 20 July 1914 at the age of 55 in Shelby Co, TN.34

Schuyler Harris ROBERTS and Missinah G PASS were married on 7 May 1841 in Shelby Co, TN.8,35 Missinah G PASS was born (date unknown).

Schuyler Harris ROBERTS and Missinah G PASS had the following children:

Waddy W ROBERTS was born on 8 February 1842 in Shelby Co, TN.1,36,37 He appeared in the census in 1850 in Shelby Co, TN.25 He served in the military Enlisted in CSA in 1862 in Shelby Co, TN.38 Waddy died in 1864 at the age of 22 in Shelby Co, TN.39 Posted on Ancestry 26 May 2012 by Mary Mueller - a Scott descendant and researcher of the family: according to the book published by the town of Collierville, 1994, Collierville, Tennessee - Her People and Neighbors, by Clarene Pinkston Russell, Waddy W. Roberts enlisted in the Civil War at age 20. He was the son of Schuyler H. Roberts and Missionah Pass Roberts...he was in the hospital in Kentucky in September 1862, and was a prisoner. In January 1863 he was absent from duty, and later, he was on board a steamer near Vicksburg, MS in late 1862. Then he appeared on a hospital list at Petersburg, VA, with small pox in June 1863. He was paroled.

Schuyler Harris ROBERTS and Mahala were married about 1832 in Shelby Co, TN.40 This was not a marriage - I am simply addressing it as such because of my genealogy software - however, this was a relationship between a slaveowner, Schuyler Roberts and his slave, Mahala.
