John ROBERTS was born on 28 August 1736 in Caroline County, VA.^99,100 He sold at 180 ac on Horseley Creek in Amherst Co, VA on 4 September 1767.¹⁰¹ He owned Survey - 164 a. on 3 December 1768 in Amherst Co, VA.¹⁰² John served in the military Soldier in Revolutionary War about 1775 in Virginia.^{103 104} He Wit to deed for John Thomas on 6 February 1784 in Amherst Co, VA.^{61 105 106} Not sure that this is this J Roberts, but times suggest the possibility. Will pursue this and see if I can clarify the recipient of the land - and its locality.
Am entering this in order to enter the information into the file. He signed a will on 11 March 1809 in Amherst Co, VA.¹⁰⁷ I John Roberts of Amherst County do hereby make my last will
and testament in manner and form following.  Viz, 1st I desire my
just debts to be paid and my funeral charges punctually to be paid
by my Executor out of my personal estate to be left to his Judgment
what part to dispose for that purpose  2dly give my daughter
Susanna Roberts all my land that I won in Amherst County Likewise
my sorrel Horse also one half of all my personal Estate that I possess
3dly I Give to my daughter Sally Roberts the other half of my personal
estate to be equally divided between her and my daughter Susanna
to Share and share alike that I have at my death
4thly Should either or both of my daughters Viz Susanna or Sally
depart this life without issue In that Case the whole of the above
legasy(sic) then on hand is to go to John Richardson Roberts a natural
son of my Deceased daughter Polly Roberts
lastly I appoint my friend John Brown junr  My Executor to
this my last will and testament  do hereby revoke all other Wills
and Testaments by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal This eleventh day of March 1809

Robert Hambelton John owned on 15 September 1809 at adjacent to Jacob Brown in Amherst Co, VA.³⁹ He on 21 June 1811 in Amherst Co, VA.¹⁰⁸ He owned land adjacent with Murry Henson, Johnathan Brown on 18 September 1815 at Pedlar in Amherst Co, VA.¹⁰⁹ John died Will proved in Amherst Court before 22 September 1817 at the age of 81 in Amherst Co, VA.¹¹⁰ He had his estate probated on 22 September 1817 in Amherst Co, VA.¹¹⁰         At a superior court of law held for Amherst County the 22nd of
Sept 1817 This last Will of John Roberts was proven by two Witnesses
In open Court and ordered to be recorded. He had his estate probated on 26 March 1820 at 100 ac from Murry Henson to Peter Rucker in Amherst Co, VA.¹¹¹

John ROBERTS and Virginia HORSELEY were married about 1752 in Amherst Co, VA.¹² Virginia HORSELEY was born (date unknown).

John ROBERTS-12 and Virginia HORSELEY-1018 had the following children:
