Samuel BROADHURST was born in 1725 in New York, NY, NY.337,338 He was baptized on 30 August 1727 at Reformed Dutch Church in New York, NY, NY.337 He signed a will on 16 March 1762 in New York, NY, NY.339 In the name of God, Amen. I, Samuel Broadhurst, of New York, mariner. I direct all my debts to be paid. I leave to my son Samuel 5 shillings in bar of any claim as eldest son and Heir. My executors are to take care of all my estate, to bring up and educate my children, until they are of age or married, and then to divide all between my children, Samuel, Benjamin, Cornelia, and Sarah. I make my friend and brother, John Heath, executor. Dated March 16, 1762. Witnesses, John Exceen, carpenter, Joshua Kiddell, merchant. Proved, April 10, 1762. Samuel had his estate probated on 10 April 1762 in New York, NY, NY.340 He died in 1762 at the age of 37 in New York.341 Samuel Broadhurst is mentioned specifically in the will of his grandfather, Thomas Pell, the father of Antje Pell Broadhurst.

New York City Court Records, 1760 - 1797, page 57-58:
John Wood, John Sise, John Van Sise, John Beeten and John Grant (indicted for a riot and assault on Josiah Bagley) are tried. Jurors are Peter Low, John Nitche, Jesse Wickes, James Monnel, Barent Newkirk, William Tanner, Henry Wolf, Jacob Mallows, John Forrester, Mathew Ridette, John Bush and Oliver Gleen. Lewis Andrew Gautier is sworn to go out with the jury. Thomas Kennedy is constable sworn to keep the jury. Witnesses for the People are Elizabeth Guest, Josiah Bagley, James Rosekrans, Mary Norwood and Samuel Broadhurst. Witnesses for the defendants are Marry Ruddert, James Grant, John Palton, Robert Tout and Luke Mathewman. The defendants are found guilty. John Van Sise and John Wood are fined £15 each. John Sise, John Beeten and John Grant are each fined £10. 6 May 1785.
